The Basic version of the kit contains the teacher handbook, student text, cursive position guides, two pencils, no eraser.
The teacher handbook provides a daily lesson plan guiding movement practice for cursive letters and words. The student text provides movement models, visual models for goal setting and skill improvement pages for specific legibility subskills. Regular opportunity to improve control of rhythmic movement is the goal.
The student is challenged to move the pen or pencil in time to the chanted action words, color rhythm or count. This goal lets the teacher and student know what kind of movement is being practiced. When visually “drawing” rather than moving with smooth rhythm, the student will not be able to chant aloud.
